It has been more than a month since the 3G iPhone was rolled out in AT&T and Apple stores. But until now, Apple Inc. and its exclusive carrier in United States, AT&T are still looking for ways on how would they keep the second-generation iPhone hot on the store shelves. However, several analysts predicted that the shortage might ease with the 3G iPhone’s premiere on September 7 in Best Buy stores.

Numerous AT&T stores located in San Francisco recently ran out of 3G iPhone. However, they were expecting a new batch of shipments on the day that they ran out of second-generation iPhones. AT&T said

that the customers who ordered the 3G iPhone in their stores have to wait from seven to ten days before they get their hands on the device.

On the other hand, Apple Inc. is urging those who want to purchase the second-generation iPhone to check first their official website before they head out to the Apple stores. Unfortunately, Apple is not offering the potential buyers the option to purchase the 3G iPhone online.

According to Gene Muster, they still expect that the 3G iPhone will still have some supply issues. But the current supply situation is far better than what Apple and AT&T had few weeks ago.
