iPhone firmware 2.0: Not so exciting after all
If you’re sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation of the June software update, you may be a little disappointed by this news. Engadget recently got the chance to play with a version 2.0 iPhone, and their report doesn’t impress. Here are some of the more notable changes:
- Exchange support. Not too exciting, if you ask us.
- App Store. Not functional, of course, but this is pretty much the only really new feature in the new firmware.
- Parental controls. Nice way to target a youth audience.
- Sideways scientific mode for the calculator. Nice!
Hit the link for the rest of the updates. But don’t get your hopes up!

CB,
Who in there right mind gets “excited” about a software release? I mean c’mon - the sun is shining outside and their are puppies and kittens waiting to be chased around.
And another thing - do you think they have the full blown release of 2.0 on their thieving stubby little Dutch hands?

Amazing—Engadget finally does a post that says nice things about the iPhone and you turn it into a negative! Link to the full piece and you’ll find a much more optimistic view of the new software.
Who’s being an Apple-hater today?

Its not the 2.0 software realease that people are on the edge of thier seats for you nitwit, its the apps that will be available through that software realease possibly hundreds of exciting legit apps are in the works which will make the iphone truly unmatched competition wise.

In response to nitwit number 2 (post number 6) who obviously is living under a rock, thats all the iphone community has been talking about..APPS, APPS, APPS, thats what they want, and thats the reason for all the jailbreaking. I have a life but you might be in need of a brain…
lordy...another skull full of mush with no hope of dendrite growth.
