WildCharge Adapters for iPhone & iPod Touch: Coming Soon

imageWe have all done it. We have all, at one time or another, forgotten to charge our phones. What if all you had to do was place your phone on the desk and it would receive a full charge? Then would your phone be ready for the day? Wireless charging has become a reality. WildCharge aims to make charging as easy as placing a phone on a pad.

The technology works via a simple adapter that sits on the phone. WildCharge uses inductive charging, similar to many rechargeable toothbrushes. As of now the Razr Adapter is the only adapter on the shelves, but that will soon change. WildCharge is introducing a flurry of adapters waiting to wirelessly charge your electronics. Included with these new products are the iPod Touch and iPhone adapters. Just place your phone on the pad and charging will commence. Wow. The dream has come true.

Go and check out WildCharge. I will be getting one, will you?

  1. I’d be more interested in an induction charging solution.
I wouldn’t want to worry about dropping any of the change that was in my pocket with my phone on the base with it. O_O

  2. Nope, wild charger DOES NOT use inductive charging, but conductive (please read the “How it works” on the WildCharge site)

  3. (It’s not induction-charging when there are electrical contacts involved: https://www.wildcharge.com/images/products/3.jpg )

  5. I don’t see the big deal here, talk about a waste of a product. If people are too lazy to set the Iphone into the charging cradle then that’s ridiculous. What’s the difference between having to plug in the adapter then setting your phone on the pad compared to just setting your iphone in it’s charge cradle? What a gimmick.

  6. I agree with BigDeal.  Is it so much more difficult to put an iPhone/iPod Touch into its charging cradle versus setting it on a pad?

    “In the year 4545
Ain’t gonna need your teeth, won’t need your eyes
You won’t find a thing to do
    Nobody’s gonna look at you

    In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs not nothing to do
Some machine is doing that for you”

C’mon, techies.  Just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should.

  7. "Just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should.”
That is SUCH a lame argument.
It’s always used when someone has a moral objection to some new technology. But in this case, there IS no moral reason why not, just the retarded “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, backwards reasoning.
If everyone had your two mindsets we’d all still be using rotary phones and traveling by horse.
    Seriously, wtf.

Progress is progress, even if it’s just a small step.
Are you guys going to call your kids worthless losers because they can’t run a marathon when they’re taking their first steps as a baby? Again, wtf.

But if you really need a reason, here’s one:
Mechanical plugs wear out. I’m on my SECOND iPhone because the pins in the contacts on the bottom of the phone wore out and the phone was no longer recognized when I plugged it in. And since I rarely need to sync my iPhone, I can positively say that the failure was caused during one of the times I had to plug the phone in to charge.

Additionally, Apple is always looking for ways to make their products sleeker. Jobs is known for not liking a ton of buttons, so I wouldn’t be surprised if future iPods and/or iPhones eventually have wireless syncing with induction charging in order to get rid of the ugly non-sleek sync-port.

  8. I want one of these built into my pants so as I am carrying around my phone in my pocket it is recharging
