Vodafone Italia customers will have the option to purchase an iPhone 3G contract free. Which considering the two-year agreement for US customers and three-year agreement Canadian customers this option is sounding more and more appealing. The big catch here is that no contract means you will be paying a good deal more for the privilege of owning your very own iPhone.
Those considering the pre-paid option with Vodafone Italia can expect to shell out €499 (around $770 US) for the 8GB and €569 (around $879 US) for the 16GB model.
In addition Vodafone Italia has also announced that customers can go ahead and pre-order their phone directly from the Vodafone Italia website or by visiting a local store. Strangely the press release made no mention of just how much a regular priced phone would be with a contract aside from mentioning that it will be a “particularly attractive price” and customers will be able to choose from “particularly simple price plans.”
