About Steam irons

Ironing with a steam generator iron is a different experience from old style steam irons. The production of high power “dry steam” means that the steam does the work, reducing effort and speedingSimac Stirella steam generator iron the process as the steam eradicates creases (not pressure on the iron). Ironing times can be reduced by half, and clothes are dryer with high temperature “dry steam”

Generator steam irons do not rely on high soleplate temperatures to remove creases. This is kinder to fabrics and means that a large variety of fabrics can be ironed on a single setting without having to wait until the iron changes temperature or worse still damaging the fabrics by ironing at too high a temperature.

The large capacity of steam generator irons means that you can iron for up to an hour or more from a single thankful and of course some of the irons are available with constant refill which means they can be topped up at any time.

 Steam generator irons come with two types of boiler;

The safety cap boiler,

Simac Bi Metal Boiler

In these irons the boiler is filled and the safety cap fastened, the steam is produced as the water is heated and the steam pressure remains constant whilst ironing. This type of boiler needs to cool before it can be refilled and due to heating the water in the boiler can take longer to heat up to operation temperature. Simac boilers use a special steam feed system to ensure that any lime scale is not delivered to the iron. This system prevents clogging of the iron controls and prevents the deposition of calcium particles that some steam irons can deposit on clothes

Continuous refill.

These boilers take water from an on board reservoir whenever required heating the water is quicker and the reservoir can be refilled at any time, even when the iron is in use. On many generator steam irons steam pressure is lost when the boiler takes on extra water. Simac irons however keep producing steam to ensure that you can continue ironing uninterrupted.

 Sole PlatesSimac dual crease feed sole plate

 Simac iron sole plates are of an optimal design to distribute steam across the fabric ensuring quick and easy ironing with first class results. And the sole plate of the top of the range SX7500D features and unique feed system guiding fabric beneath the sole plate for even better results.

Ironing delicate items or fabrics is easily accomplished by putting the item on a hanger and just passing the iron gently over the surface of the garment whilst hung up, creases simply fall out of the fabric leaving the garment immaculate. Quick easy and simple!
