They have the new QuickPwn GUI 150 mirrored for Windows users: http://www.iphone-hacks.com/downloads/file/138

Excellent. I already jailbroke my iPhone 3G on the family Dell computer (using Quickpwn) but I'll definitely update my PwnageTool either way. This + Adium 1.3 makes for a happy day for my Mac.

Some early adopters are reporting a bug with passwords not being saved (for Mail, Wifi, etc).
I'd hold off for the moment...

I can confirm the trouble with passwords, it just won't remember them:(
That's not cool at all:(

Yep, it's confirmed at MacRumors by everybody. Glad that I looked before using it. :)

The Password storage issue can be fixed by installing OpenSSH and applying a chmod of 0777 to /var/Keychains. This will allow the passwords to be stored to the Keychain database.

1st post! Oh, and where do you get that recovery mode / boot logo in the TUAW picture?

Every time I use this Pwnage tool my iPhone won't activate. I'm making sure activate is selected before hand too. I've always jailbroken my iPhone during the 1.0-1.1.4 days, but have had no success with 2.0 and beyond.
I'd love to try it again... but it just takes sooooo long to do a restore on the new OS.
Anyone think they know where I'm going wrong?

You have to deselect Activate :)
This is because (i assume) your SIM is already legally activated, and the PwnageTool's "Activate" breaks that.

Just to repeat - you must DESELECT "activate". This has caused a lot of people this problem. You would choose "activate" if you wanted to use the iPhone without being officially activated at&t or similar. Spread the word.

For those wondering, Installer is still useless.
@mingistech: If you're a legitimate carrier customer, you have to *uncheck* activate. I made that mistake the first time I did it, too, but it's easily undone.

*****Update on the password issue******
Visitor oz_paulb commented on the Dev Team blog that NOT including Cydia when you build your custom firmware seems to solve the issue. Use Expert mode to so. I haven't tried myself and can yet not confirm.
Hope this helps some folks!

confused.
I jailbroke already.
I haven't updated my 1st gen phone to 2.0.whatever because I didn't want to brick it. Now there is this.
Do I download the update from Mac and then update the phone and THEN run the pwnage tool?? What are n00bs supposed to do?
