It was said that the deal between Apple Inc. and its exclusive iPhone carrier in America, AT&T, was supposed to end next year (2009). However, according to the USA Today, the contract seems to be extended until the year 2010.

AT&T already offered Apple Inc. a $300 worth of subsidy for every iPhone unit bought in America. Therefore, Apple Inc. considered it best to make AT&T the exclusive carrier of their latest smartphone for at least a year more. But although the price of the iPhone is a big plus, this may become a great factor for Apple Inc. to lose some of its customers. There

are some Americans who do not wish to change their mobile service provider. And because of this, they would no longer buy the latest phone from Apple Inc.

Nevertheless, the second-generation iPhone had a successful debut. As a result, it makes some Apple fans, critics, and other people ask themselves if the debut would still be the same if Apple Inc. did not made an exclusive deal with the AT&T.

Randall Stephenson, the CEO of AT&T, they are very happy and very satisfied with the results of their company and Apple Inc.’s collaboration. All of the losses that they have recorded are all part of the gamble.
